BUCKHANNON -- Florence Brake, 89, of Buckhannon [WV] died Sunday, June 27, 1999, at Holbrook Nursing Home. She was born March 27, 1910, in Upshur County, a daughter of the late Alf Brake and Zeffie Smith Brake. Surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Virgie Brake and Pearl Morrison, and one brother, Frank Brake. Mrs. Brake was Methodist.

FRENCH CREEK -- Thomas Gay Brake, 84, of Route 2, French Creek, died at 8 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 1999, at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born March 26, 1915, in Rock Cave, a son of the late Lee Brake and Nevada Catherine Crawford Brake. His wife, Nona Maxine McKisic Brake, preceded him in death. Surviving are one son, Thomas L. Brake, Salisbury, Md.; one grandson, Jeffery Michael Brake, Madison, Wis.; six sisters, Martha Brake and Catherine Craig, both of Route 1, Crawford, Loretta Walden, Fairmont, Rosemary Bean, Summersville, Geraldine Smith, Clarksburg, and Agnes Smith, Buckhannon; several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Maude Porter and one brother, Calvin Brake. Mr. Brake was a member of Moose Lodge No. 598, Buckhannon. He was Protestant.
