CSCI 112 W '11: Fundamentals of Programming II Dr. Joshua Stough Survey responses to question on parallelism topics in the course. Do you feel the coverage of parallelism has enabled you to apply these concepts to future problems you will encounter? Any comments on this topic would be greatly appreciated. 1.I think this helped a great deal in understanding several things unrelated to computer science. I think this is applicable to a variety of other fields like other sciences ( chemistry, biology, etc) 2.No, we did not go into enough detail and the different use of the Multiprocessing module is still confusing to me. 3.Not quite. Parallelism was the topic that I had the most difficult time with, and we covered it (seemingly) very briefly. Right after our labs with it we moved on, and the labs didn’t help me understand very much. 4.For data-parallelism I thought it was very useful. I didn’t totally grasp the pipe concept implementation to look into it more. I wanted to use it in the future. 5.YES. 6.Actually parallelism’s the one thing that I still get mixed up about-I really should go back and review that for the final.  but I think after that sure I’ll be able to apply it. 7.Blank.
