The 2010 Jackson Brigade Reunion will be held in Weston, Lewis County, 
West Virginia 
and the surrounding area with activities in Clarksburg, Beverly, Buckhannon, 
and 
Jackson's Mill.

Theme of the Reunion:  Settlement of western Virginia by the John and Elizabeth Cummins Jackson 
family and the role of the Jackson family in the formation of the State of 
West Virginia.

-  Friday August 6th
 
- Registration: Friday Afternoon 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. at 
Historic Central 
Shoppe, Clarksburg, WV.  During these two hours, the Harrison County 
Historical Society will host a reception with light snacks.  Those registering 
can pick up their packets and socialize in addition to browsing through this 
unique craft shop located in an historic warehouse.
 
- Free Bus tour of Clarksburg: We load on a bus at 5 p.m. for a tour of 
Clarksburg with David Houchin as our tour guide.
 
- Presentation by David Houchin: The tour ends at The Waldomore
on Pike Street where our tour guide will speak on the early settlement of 
Clarksburg by the Jackson family and others.
 
 
- Saturday August 7th
 
- Late Registration: 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in Comfort Inn Lobby.
 
- Drive to Beverly: 8:30 a.m. leave Weston area by car and drive to 
Beverly, WV.  The plan is to stop at the 
Pringle Tree near 
Buckhannon on the way. Weather permitting, we plan to have our Memorial Service at Pringle Tree.
 
- Tour of Historic Houses in Beverly: Tour of several historic houses 
in Beverly including the Laura 
Jackson Arnold house, the house when General 
Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson's sister lived.  See historical markers in Beverly, WV.
 
- Rich Mountain Battlefield Center: Tour 
Rich Mountain Visitors Center

- Leave Beverly: 4 p.m.
 
- Dinner: 5:30 p.m. Dinner at the Steer Steakhouse (Market Street Mall) 
Rt. 33 near Weston 
and the Comfort Inn. You will pay as you go through the line.  Approx. $13.00/person.
We have reserved a meeting room for dinner, our business meeting and speaker.
  
 
- Jackson Brigade Business Meeting: 6:30 p.m. in the reserved room at the Steer Steakhouse.
 
- Speaker: 7 p.m. After the meal and Business Meeting, our 
president Jane Hilder will speak on the life of Senator John Snyder Carlile.  John was at 
the forefront in the movement to create the state of West Virginia from 
parts of Virginia. John Carlile's wife Mary Ellen Gittings was a 
great granddaughter of George Jackson and Elizabeth Brake.  Our speaker Jane 
is a great-great granddaughter of John Snyder Carlile.
 
 
 
- Sunday August 8th
 
- Hacker's Creek Tour in Morning: Tour by Joy Stalnaker and Nancy 
Jackson with emphasis on encounters with 
Indians.  More information on Tour. 
Tour bus will leave the Comfort Inn at 8:30 a.m. and tour should 
end by 12:30 p.m. or sooner.  Tour is limited to 20 and will be filled on a 
first come basis. 
Cost for the tour: $10 per person
 
- Jackson's Mill: For those who have not visited Jackson's Mill where "Stonewall" worked as a child, we recommend touring it on your own in the afternoon.  Maps and information will be available.
