Greek Mythology
By: Adon Shapiro
Overview
For my IS-AS project this year, my research topic was Greek Mythology.
My three questions were:
- How many Greek Gods are there and what do they represent?
- What kinds of Mythological creatures are there and what do
they do?
- Who were some of the major heroes and what did they do?
These are some things I have learned through my research.
- There are never more than twelve major Gods residing on Mt. Olympus at
one time and there are a few variable Gods and minor divinities.
- Pegasus is a winged horse, Cerberus is the giant three-headed dog who
guards the entrance to the underworld, and the Gorgons are the three
sisters who are so ugly that a man turns to stone if he looks at their
faces.
- In Greek Mythology, a hero is someone who either has done some sort of
monumental deed, has a god for a parent in addition to a mortal one, or
both.
Greek Mythology is a very interesting topic (although not very believable),
and if I had more time, I would do much more research. Anyway, here is my
website about Greek Mythology! For more information, see my powerpoint
below. Enjoy!
