1. Policies on the general salary structure and benefits, including non-cash benefits, for Faculty and academic personnel
2. Policies on the handling of grievances
3. University policies on the evaluation of faculty members for retention, promotion and tenure
4. Revisions of the Faculty Handbook.

Policy formulation may be initiated by the Committee, or at the request of the University Faculty, the President, or the University Council.

Pending Business

• The Committe on Faculty and Academic Personnel is "to consider changes to section II.C.3 of the Faculty Handbook (Committee on Honorary Degrees) that are appropriate given the change in the President's status, and report back to the Faculty in April 2005. The Committee is encouraged to consult with CAFT on issues of procedure and academic freedom." The discussion of revival of honorary degrees is summarized in the minutes of the March 2005 meeting of the faculty.
