Laboratory 4: Notes on Lab Report
Lab reports are due on
Friday, October 30, 1998 at 9:00 AM..
Reports can be completed by individual students or
in groups of two or three students.
Please address the following in your report:
- Answer the questions listed in the lab assignment.
- In Section 2 of the lab, explain (with sketches of graphs)
how convolving the noisy data with the matched filter
with impulse response h(t) performs an averaging operation.
- Explain your solution to the Design Project
in Section 3 of the lab assignment.
Explain how your solution is related to a matched filter,
and also explain qualitatively how and why your solution
works.
- You do not have to submit a large number of
plots for this assignment.
(In fact, I don't mind if you have no plots.)
It is more important to explain the main concepts,
and provide some results such as bit error rates
when explaining how good or bad a particular scenario
performs.
