Sophia Jackson

Sophia Jackson2 (John Jackson1) b. 22 Sept. 1763 Howards Lick, Hardy Co., (W)V*; d. 10 Mar. 1836 Turkey Run, Upshur Co., (W)V* her will was probated June, 1836 (doesn't say where, but prob. Lewis County/now Upshur and is in Lewis court house) she signed by her mark in the presence of H. Jackson, Isaac Dix and Elizabeth Dix; m. ca 1785 Josiah "Joseph" Davis [Link is to Mary Love's web site.] b. 9 May 1757; d. 18 Oct. 1832 Lewis Co., (W)V*; They are possibly buried in the Old Brake/Jackson Cemetery located on a knoll overlooking Turkey Run and Route 20, on the Hull farm. * Old Bible - Davis Family, Typed copy of Bible Record with this notation: This data was copied from the old Davis family Bible by Elmore Jackson Rohrbough(grandson) into one he owned. The older book was destroyed in a fire later that burned old home place. Now in possession of Mrs. A. S. Pinto, Omaha, Nebraska, who notes that the Jackson Gould family lived in Illinois, and her mother knew them well. Jackson Gould was listed in this typed copy as being a child of Joseph and Sophia. He was born 30 Jan. 1816, d. 24 Oct. 1892, m. Mary Chipman. He was NOT listed as a heir of Joseph in his will of 1832. He may be the son of William J. and Lida Gould Jackson.
