Obituary for Diurnal F. Davis

Diurnal F. Davis was born in Adams county, this state; came to Hancock county in 1856 or '57; was married in 1858 to Elvira Printy, step- daughter of John W. Cox; moved to Kansas and remained two years; returned in 1860 and bought the farm on which he has since lived. His surviving family consists of the wife, one son and five daughters, mostly grown. He has been a member of the M. E. Church about 15 years. His age was not far from 53 or 54. He was a good farmer, a quiet and inoffensive citizen and excellent neighbor.

The funeral on Monday afternoon at the Holland grave yard was very largely attended, there being over sixty teams in the procession.
