BIBLE RECORD OF JOHN AND MARY ELIZABETH JACKSON ALLEN

John James Allen son of James and Jane Allen born in the town of Woodstock, County of Shenandoah, Virginia, on the 26th day of Sept. 1797.

Mary Elizabeth Payne Jackson daughter of John G. Jackson and Mary C. Jackson born in the town of Clarksburg, Harrison County, Virginia Sept. 7, 1805.

John J. Allen and Mary E. P. Jackson were married in Clarksburg on Thursday the 11th day of November 1824, eighteen hundred and twenty four.

Mary Jane Allen our daughter was born in Clarksburg on Wednesday the 5th of Oct. 1825 at half after eight o'clock P.M.

James Clotworthy Allen our son was born on Monday the 19th of January in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and twenty nine at a quarter after six of the clock P.M. in the town of Clarksburg, Harrison Cty, Va.

John James Allen our son was born on Wednesday the seventeenth day of August eighteen hundred and thirty one at two o'clock A.M. in the town of Clarksburg, Harrison Cty., Va.

Evelina Sophia Allen our daughter was born in Clarksburg, Harrison Cty., Va. on Sunday the thirteenth day of October 1833 at 20 minutes past 3 o'clock p.m.

Robert Edwin Allen our son was born in Clarksburg, Harrison County, Va. on Saturday the thirteenth day of February eighteen hundred and thirty six at 20 minutes past four o'clock P.M.

Henry Clay Allen our son was born at the Beaverdam, Botetourt County, Virginia on Monday the nineteenth day of March A.D. eighteen hundred and thirty eight (1838) at 30 minutes past five o'clock P.M.

James Madison Allen our son was born at the Beaverdam Botetourt County, Virginia on Thursday the ninth day of April A.D. eighteen hundred and forty (1840) at 45 minutes past six o'clock A.M.

George Jackson Allen our son was born at the Beaverdam Botetourt County, Virginia on Thursday the twenty ninth (29th) day of September, A.D. eighteen hundred and forty two (1842) at ten minutes past ten o'clock P.M.

Baldwin Allen, our son was born at the Beaverdam Botetourt County, Va. on Tuesday the first day of October A.D. eighteen hundred and forty four (1844) 20 MINUTES BEFORE 1 O'CLOCK p.m.

Mary Coles Jackson, mother of M.E.P. Allen died in Clarksburg February 13, 1808.

John G. Jackson father of M.E.P. Allen, departed this life 11 o'clock in the evening of Monday the 28th day of March 1825, in Clarksburg.

Jane Allen, mother of J. J. Allen, departed this life at Beaverdam, Botetourt Cty., Virginia about 11 o'clock in the evening of the 13th day of July 1826.

James C. Allen our son departed this life in Clarksburg on the 31 day of July 1830 at 20 minutes past one o'clock P.M. aged 18 months and 12 days.

James Allen, my father, departed this life at Beaverdam, Botetourt Cty., Va., at 15 minutes after 10 o'clock A.M. of the 26th of Sept. 1844. He was born on the 6th day of December 1762 and was in his 82nd year.

Mary Jane Watts our daughter departed this life at Beaverdam, Botetourt Cty., Va. 30 minutes after one o'clock A.M. on the 1st day of June 1855, aged 29 yres., 7 mos., 26 days; she was born the 5th day of October 1825.

James Madison Allen our son departed this life at Beaverdam, Botetourt Cty. on the 6th day of March (Sunday) 1859 at 20 minutes past three o'clock A.M. aged 18 yrs., 10 mos. 25 days.

George Jackson Allen our son departed this life at the Clay Street Military Hospital in the City of Richmond on Wednesday afternoon the twenty fifth (25th) day of June 1862, a soldier in Co., K 57th Regt. Va. Vo. Capt. John J. Allen. He died of typhoid fever, his remains being sent home, his corpse was interred in the graveyard at Lauderdale on Saturday the 28th June 1862. He was 19 years, 8 mos., 26 days old. He left his home for the camp in August 1861. He had been in service a few days over 10 mos.

Baldwin Allen our son departed this life at Tazewell, East Tennessee, at the house of Mrs. Mary A. Houston on Tuesday 1/2 after 2 o.c. A.M. the second day of Sept. 1862 a soldier in Jos. W. Anderson Battery of Va. Artillery serving at Cumberland Gap. He died of typhoid fever contracted in the camp, and his remains were brought home and interred at the graveyard at Lauderdale on Sunday the 7th of Sept. 1862. He was 17 years, 11 m. 1 day old when he died, and left home for the camp on Monday the 4 August 1862.

This record of our youngest child is made up, our's must soon be closed. God's will be done.

John James Allen I

My husband John J. Allen, departed this life at Beaverdam, Botetourt County on the 18th day of September 1871, in the 74th year of his age.

M.E.P. Allen

My mother, Mary Elizabeth Payne Allen departed this life at Beaverdam, Botetourt Co. Va. at 55 minutes past seven o'clock P.M. on the 22nd day of March. A.D. 1881 in the 76th year of her age.

Married at Beaverdam Botetourt Cy. by the Rev. Mr. McElroy on Tuesday the eighteenth day of October eighteen hundred & fifty (1850) William Watts, Esq. of Roanoke City., Va. to Mary Jane Allen our daughter.

John J. Allen

John Allen Watts son of William and Mary Watts was born at Beaverdam Botetourt Cy., Va. on Friday the 30th day of March 1855 at 40 minutes after 10 o'clock P.M.

Married at Mill View Dr. E. N. Wood and Miss Eva S. Allen daughter of late Judge John J. Allen, Sr., both of Botetourt.
