Hadrian's Wall
England
Hadrian's Wall is the most spectacular ancient Roman remains in
Britain. This wall was originally 15 feet high and ran almost 73 miles
from Wallsend (near Newcastle-upon-Tyne) in the east to
Bowness-on-Solway in the west. Roman Emperor Hadrian built the wall
around 120 A.D. to protect Roman Briton from the Pics to the
north.
