I love to take pictures of people and places. Here is a small (but growing) collection of photographs with some context included.

On every trip home, I visit the beach near my house a few times. The Marina beach in Madras has lovely sand and warm water. Recent efforts by voluntary groups and the state government are keeping the beach clean. August, 2012.

The start of the hike to Mont Blanc. Early morning. July 2012.

Lenticular clouds forming on one of the peaks in the Mont-Blanc range, looking out from Ecole de Physique at Les Houches. They are apparently the result of standing waves formed by obstructions in the flow of steady moist air. July, 2012.

The "Mer de Glace", or sea of ice. One of the large glaciers on the Mont-blanc massif. The bands in the distance are from faster flow in the center of the glacier. Deep crevasses can be found littered around revealing crystal blue ice beneath. August, 2012.

The picture below was my first proper look at the wild northern pacific ocean and brings back wonderful memories of a trip to the Olympic National Park. This was shot at Kalaloch beach. March, 2010.
